Bizerte is a Tunisian town situated in northern Tunisia. It is located about 72 kilometers from Tunis, 82 km of La Goulette, 83 kilometers from Gammarth, 217 kilometers from Sousse and Monastir 239 km.
Founded in 1100 BC by the Phoenicians, Bizerte carried the name of Hippo, Hippo Accra, Hippo Diaritus or Zaritus in Roman times. It was only in the Middle Ages it was occupied by Muslims. Bizerte, Tunisia city, played a very important historical and military role during the Second World War. Due to its strategic placement, Bizerte houses one of the largest naval bases in the Mediterranean.

Bizerte has three ports with a marina, a fishing port and a commercial port. The latter is one of the most important economically in Tunisia since 2006 ports, it has moved approximately 4,790,313 tons of cargo destined for Europe.
In Tunisia, Bizerte is famous for its international festival, the ancient city, its citadel and fear Kasbah founded by the Byzantines.
