Qatar

Small emirate overlooking the Persian Gulf, Qatar is not least thanks to its rich oil and gas reserves status. Tourist destination still on the sidelines, Qatar gradually opening to foreign visitors. 

Its capital, Doha, has the only international airport in the country. While connected, it provides access to other major tourist cities such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Qatar is a small country located on a peninsula jutting into the Persian Gulf, north of Saudi Arabia. Thanks to its oil and gas Qatar can boast a higher income per capita in Western Europe. 

Doha, the capital is in this respect the most striking example of this economic success. It is a modern city or buildings mushrooming. It is also in Doha are the main sites and monuments that attract visitors to Qatar

Things to see and do in Qatar 

Qatar is one of the member countries of OPEC. It bases its wealth of Black Gold and is home to about 1.7 million Qataris. Its capital is Doha and the Qatari Riyal national currency. It was in this city that is a large part of the population of the country and its major monuments and attractions, Fort Al Wajbah built in 1882, Al Koot Fort, built in 1917, the various mosques, Church St. Marie-du-Rosaire, or the national Museum of Qatar and the Doha Zoo. 

Doha, the capital, stands out as an obligatory step, with its large modern buildings, towers and museums. 

Tourists are rare in Qatar: they primarily benefit of beach resorts on the coast and a few trips to the desert.

Travel advice 

Avoid leaving for Qatar in the summer: the heat wave that is sweeping the country does not make the trip and you could spend your time looking for air-conditioned places! Prefer to stay between November and March. 

Qatar remains a traditional country: despite the heat, do not wear low-cut or tight-fitting outfits that will be very unpopular and pay attention to local customs as always. 

                                                                                                Entry requirements:
 passport valid for six months from the dates of travel. The visa on arrival is established, paying, valid for two weeks. 

Qatar corners to sleep 

Regarding accommodation, there are quite a number of five star hotels in Doha international chain like Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons and Intercontinental. Overall the accommodation is expensive in Qatar costs around 100 euros for a double room in a regular hotel midrange. 

Note: Alcohol is only available in bars attached to international hotels and you must present your passport at the entrance of these institutions.
